An innovative space many can call home is officially open for cinematographers, videographers, producers, tv-media personalities, hosts, designers, copywriters, and more. Community members gathered at 6115 Skyline Dr in Houston, Texas, to celebrate Eyeconic Studios with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house. On June 25, 2022, "Media Eyecon," CEO of Eyeconic Television, Ja'Leah Davis, put her blood, sweat, and tears into curating a space for the vastly growing creators of Houston, Texas.
History is made as Mayor of Houston, Texas, Sylvester Turner, and city council member Edward Pollard awarded Eyeconic Studios the congressional award introducing the city's first media academy and social adult program, a non-profit organization geared to helping children and adults to produce the visions of their dreams.
"Young, gifted, and talented is utilized right here in H-Town. We are building innovative- technology spaces forming an ecosystem throughout the underserved communities like Third Ward, Fifth Ward, Acres Homes, and Sunnyside." Said Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.
Eyeconic Studios is an extension of Eyeconic Television, a digital television station located in Houston, Texas, on KVV channels 15 and 10. Since 2018, Eyeconic studios have grown a staff of 30 students and interns to foster its growth in a new building of 600 square feet. Ja'Leah Davis is the youngest to own a television studio aimed to advance and inspire the future.
Earlier that day, artist, producer, and actor David Banner hosted a meet and greeted to kick off the grand opening while Ja'Leah Davis sat down during an interview following his latest album, The Good Box 2.
Art, music, bounce houses, and vendors trucks, including Tom Turkey's, V-Spot Vegan Bistro, T-Mae & Woody's Kitchen, and more than 60 members of the community came out to show support of the grand opening of Eyeconic Studios. Watching the community join together to pivot the new space developing in technology, media, and digital platforms was groundbreaking.
