As a proud Southern Black Girl, I'm thrilled to introduce the "Mind Your Body Wellness Festival," in partnership with Megan Thee Stallion through the Pete & Thomas Foundation and the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium.

Leveraging the strength of our network, we brought the saying "your network is your net-worth" to life. On Saturday, February 17th, the Mind Your Body Wellness Festival, hosted at the Bread Of Life Inc., marked the beginning of a community committed to embracing a comprehensive approach to health, all made possible through the resources and connections within our network.
Houston's own bona fide hip-hop superstar, Meg Thee Stallion, took a stand, lifting weights and promoting a healthy and happier lifestyle through deliberate physical activity and a dedication to spreading joy throughout her community. This initiative was in collaboration with the Southern Black Girls & Women’s Consortium and Nike, who selected local women to champion wellness in our community.

Cultivating a space filled with belief, genuine love, and mutual support, we hosted 65 attendees, ranging from young women and men aged 10 to 65, including alumni from Prairie View A&M University and Texas Southern University. The festival's vibrancy was significantly enhanced by contributions from several key individuals and groups. Teresa Thomas of T Media LLC, Brianna Huff of 24K Productions, Captured By Jigga, and Brianna Day from Purge Me Detox Juice and Company, who presented a live demonstration on the impacts of good and bad food consumption, all played essential roles. Henry Brown Jr. from Farmer Brown Juice, lifestyle coaches Tyriq and Kia Carter at Glove Gang Fitness, MSW Trinity Brooks offering mental health insights, Spoken Word Poet Marleigha Sereen, the Designed 2 Dance team with their special performances, and the sounds provided by Tajah The DJ all significantly enriched the festival experience.
Additionally, Jennifer and Brandon Washington from Snap City Collectables and Sewciety were instrumental in adding a unique touch by creating custom "Mind Your Body" gear for the event.

As a community deeply committed to inspiration, encouragement, and upliftment, we pledge to keep this spirit alive by organizing more such initiatives in Houston. Together, we're building a legacy of empowerment and wellness that will resonate for years to come.
