(Houston)— Houston's well-known to be nicknamed the "melting pot" for creators, musicians, artists, entertainers, hustlers, and go-getters. "Be Someone" is also a known phrase established by Houstonians that has a deep meaning to the young people that get up and make something out of nothing.
In the great city of Houston, the most visited and entrepreneur-led economy encourages Millennials and Gen Z to thrive in fulfilling their passions and establishing economic growth.
This past Saturday (November 26), A group of Houstonias, Ash-Lo, Yams G The DJ, Kdot, and Produced By Southern organized a creative space for producers to showcase their beats with a beat battle. The three-round level battle with ten contestants took place at Eyeconic Television located at 6115 Skyline Dr, Houston, Texas packing a full house.
With great appreciation for the construction of music, Yams G-The DJ ensures that producers wouldn't be overlooked and provides opportunities to have producer's beats heard outside of their home studios and get their feet wet in front of Industry professionals.
"It allows bedroom producers to showcase their beats to the crowd and gives them a platform to express their love for music. It's about finding those great producers in the crevices--the goal is for Pull Up & Cook Up to be a taste of the culture of Houston and the industry from within," said Yams G-The DJ.

Creatives and entrepreneurs gathered to be in an atmosphere that surrounded music and food, networking, relationship building, and a chance to receive feedback from industry professionals. Some came to support, while other's main goal was to network and authentically receive constructive criticism from their recent beat projects.
In Houston, music artists and entertainers have many events, spaces, and opportunities to showcase their talents. Yet something like Pull Up & Cook Up has yet to be available, putting a spotlight on the creators behind the tracks.

While producers and engineers battled head to head, on the panelist board, set judges, artist manager Miss Megann, music artist Lady Icess, producer Pug Tunes, and A&R and artist Ace Mccain aka Cain.
It can take a lot of work to break through as a creator in a city saturated with competitive artists, producers, engineers, DJs, videographers, photographers, and media representatives. While many continue to move to Houston for opportunities, the place to be from now on is Pull Up & Cook Up, taking place every other Saturday. The economic growth for young people is also on the rise, whereas the hottest brands such as 1nelifeclothing, Fallen Clothing, Desire Is Energy, and Radical Black Girl were vendors and sold merchandise.
Given the opportunities set to take place in Houston, the Pull Up & Cook Up movement will continue to grow with future events involving the rich culture from entertainment and food.
"You have to participate in events like this to meet all the interesting and creative producers in Houston. You also have to see what's the vibe in the streets. It's something new and exciting. I like to see producers battle against beats. It's a wonderful thing," said Product Development Specialist at Exotic Pop Beverages, Khelin Farooq.
