(Houston) - Julia Ivery, aka the hilarious J.Cookie, from “Be Someone” Houston, has a backstory as entertaining as her comedy. On February 14, 2021, she found herself in an unexpected spotlight when she appeared on Judge Mathis, where she was playfully dubbed a "promiscuous pill popper" by internet trolls. Little did she know that this unusual episode would turn out to be a stepping stone to her becoming comedy career.
After her Judge Mathis appearance, J.Cookie decided to take her newfound fame and turn it
into comedy gold. She named her comedy showcase "Cookie Jar Open Mic Night" after herself, a name as sweet as her humor.
J.Cookie's journey to the comedy stage was anything but conventional. Her appearance on Judge Mathis was like a slam dunk, leading to opportunities in stand-up comedy. Instead of letting the negative label define her, J.Cookie decided to use it as the comedic fuel that would power her humor for the next year and a half.
Stepping onto the stage, she shared her life's truths and found herself catching the eye of none other than Ruben Rich Kid from Rich Kid & Company. Now, the entertainment company is gearing up to unveil a series of exciting events for the public.

"Apparently, I've been funny all my life. Being funny is my coping mechanism. I didn't realize I was a comedian until I started telling my truth as a black woman," J.Cookie humorously stated.
Back in 2019, J.Cookie would tease her social media followers with freestyle raps, gaining unwavering support from her fans. But it's her bold joke stopping Houston judge Lina Hidalgo on the street to inquire about the laws governing dildos that truly set her apart. J.Cookie took this hilarious encounter and turned it into a comedy bit, even scoring endorsement deals from it.
Adding to her list of comedic accomplishments, J.Cookie recently clinched the second place at the Laugh Town Competition in Galveston, Texas, and was a runner-up for the title of "Funniest Comedian In Houston 2022" at RIOT.
For a guaranteed daily dose of laughter, make your way to the Cookie Jar Open Mic Night, held every Monday at The Secret Group, 2101 Polk St, Houston, Texas. You won't just laugh; you might roll out of your seat with J.Cookie's side-splitting humor!
